Destin Goka

Projects Coordinator

My name is Destin Yawo Goka. I am Togolese. I was born and raised in a small village (Lavié), about 10 minutes drive from Kpalimé. Growing up, I was surrounded by family and nature. I am the youngest of five children. I was taught to have a strong work ethic and I took that to heart.

I did my primary and secondary studies there before coming to Lomé. I have a Bachelor’s degree in English at Lomé University. I am passionate about sports, especially football, not only because I am a referee, but also because for me it is another form of medication. I love traveling and reading as well. Taking care of my Community is also a duty for me.

Today I am working at Victoria Grace Foundation as Projects Coordinator.

As Projects Coordinator, I have the privilege to work on many different projects that have made a lasting impact on the lives of many people.
I have been able to apply my knowledge and skills to create innovative solutions that have made a positive difference in the lives of many people. I have also the opportunity to work with many different people from different backgrounds and cultures. This has allowed me to gain an understanding of different perspectives, which has broadened my own understanding of the world.

I am proud to be here because it’s a great experience for me. It is helping me with my future projects. Since I am here, I can see the interest of the Company to change the life of people in my country. Taking care of families, paying students’ school fees, giving value to albinos, and also caring for people with mental illness in the streets of Lome, are such things we do. I am very proud to be part of this gorgeous project and to contribute to its fulfillment.

I will soon do my Master’s in Project Management. The purpose is to manage humanitarian projects in my country.

My main responsibilities

1. Planning and coordinating projects: I work closely with the executive team to develop project plans and timelines, and ensure that projects are executed efficiently and effectively.

2. Communicating with stakeholders: I communicate regularly with project stakeholders, including donors, volunteers, and community partners, to keep them informed of project progress and to solicit feedback.

3. Evaluating project success: I am responsible for evaluating project outcomes and identifying areas for improvement. I also prepare reports for the executive team and board of directors.

Overall, my role is crucial in ensuring that the Victoria Grace Foundation is able to deliver high-quality projects that make a positive impact in the community.
